MULLEIN

(Verbascum thapsus)


A bitter, cooling, mucilaginous herb that soothes and lubricates tissues, promotes healing and has expectorant, diuretic, analgesic, and antiseptic effects.

PROPERTIES: anodyne, antispasmodic, antitussive, astringent, dumulcent, diuretic, emollient, expectorant, vulnerary.

Mullein (Verbascum thapsus)
· urinary irritation with painful micturition
· main use is the treatment of lung disease, coughs, consumption and hemorrhage of the respiratory organs
· has narcotic properties that do not induce euphoria
· quiets inflamed and irritate nerves, relieves pain, and is soothing to any inflammation
· used to treat lymphatic congestion
· effective in relieving swollen joints
· provides mucilaginous protection to mucus surfaces, inhibiting the absorption of allergens through mucus membranes
· strengthens the sinuses and allows for free breathing
· combines with Marrubium vulgare, Tussilago farfara, and Lobelia inflata in acute or chronic bronchitis

SUGGESTED DOSAGE: should be used as directed by a qualified professional practitioner.
Tincture - Spray:
3-6 pumps three times daily.
Extract: ½ tsp 3 times daily.
